I grew up in and around the mountains of Montana. As my constant companions, always in the distance, these mountains came to exert a strong influence over the course of my life. After living in Bozeman, Montana for many years, I chose to attend Montana State University in 2007 and graduated in 2012 with two degrees — Drawing and English Literature.
My thesis show, titled ValU, opened in 2012 and featured a series of works inspired by the natural world. Since graduating, I have used this early body of work as a springboard to my current work — a further exploration of how we come to understand ourselves through our experiences in nature.
