"Sweeps" | Original Drawing

“Sweeps” is an 12x24 original black ink drawing on white canvas depicting a snow-covered conifer trees and a ski lift with mountains in the distance. There’s a certain stillness in this drawing that makes me think of the very end of the day on the ski hill, when the ceaseless ski lifts finally fall into stillness and the snowy landscape becomes silent once again.

The name “Sweeps” refers to a term that ski patrollers use to describe their “sweep” of the mountain at the end of the day as they make sure all the mountain adventurers on their terrain have been accounted for.

“Sweeps” is a thin vertical piece that displays well on its own near other ski-themed decor. In 2024, it was displayed in a show alongside a reclaimed ski chair, and the two art pieces conversed really well together.

This drawing arrives unframed and ready to hang as is or display in the custom frame of your choosing.
