“Before The Dawn” is an 11x14 original black ink drawing on white canvas depicting a figure (perhaps a skier?) with a backpack leaving a trail of footprints in the snow behind them as they make their way over rolling hills toward tall, rising mountains before them. I created this piece with the thought of a long journey in mind. To me, it depicts the feeling one has when one knows the adventure ahead will be lengthy and winding, but the reward, the experience, or the view from the top will be worth the effort to get there. We can’t always see what lies ahead. Sometimes all we can do is set a course and set forth with determination into the unknown.
